Kasargod: Worker dies as mud caves in near Kumble

Kasargod, Sep 13: A construction worker was buried alive as mud caved in at Kudreppadi, near Seethangoli, Kumble in the afternoon on September 12.

Three other workers had a narrow escape.

The deceased has been identified as Venkatraj (60), resident of Kudreppadi. The incident occurred while levelling private land for constructing a house on Kudreppadi temple road.

Though Venkatraj was pulled out from the mud and rushed to private hospital, his life could not be saved. Workers Gopala, Seetharama and Nagappa escaped unhurt.

The dead body has been kept at Kasargod general hospital morgue. It will be handed over to the relatives after postmortem.
