Udupi, Nov 9: Excise department sleuths arrested two men found with 245 litres of illicit liquor meant for sale in their Maruti car at Beejadi, Kundapur taluk.
The officials arrested Jayaprakash V S (49), son of Seetarama Gowda and Rathnaker Kharvi (46), son of Macha Kharvi.
They are now in judicial custody. The vehicle and the liquor found in it have been seized.
Deputy inspector Nithyananda and staff participated in the operation under the guidance of deputy superintendent Vinod Kumar and Udupi deputy commissioner of excise K B Merunandan on orders from Mangaluru division joint excise commissioner Shailaja Kote.
