Puttur: Cattle theft - accused held, remanded to judicial custody

Puttur, Nov 13: Relating to theft of cattle from villages like Parane, Paltady, Kunhady as well as Malengri in Yedamangala village of Sullia taluk, Bellare police have arrested an accused. The arrested accused has been identified as Muhammed Mansoor, resident of Ammemar in Pudu village, Bantwal taluk. He was produced in court.

The accused was arrested by assistant sub-inspector of Bellare station Mohan Gowda, along with two other staff of his station from the town. On being produced in Sullia court, the court remanded him to two weeks judicial custody.

Mansoor faces the charge of buying stolen cows from Parane, Kunhady and Malengri in Yedamangala, slaughtering them and selling beef. Several cases stand registered against him for this act in the town station here, rural station, Uppinangay and some other police stations.
