Mangaluru, Nov 14: After his appointment as deputy commissioner of Mangaluru, Sasikanth Senthil held a press meet at his office to brief about new government projects and discuss other issues pertaining to city on Tuesday, October 14.

Explaining the app which is especially prepared for farmers by state government, he said, “State government will introduce an app for farmers to submit the details of crops in various places with the purpose of survey. This app will help farmers to get connected with the government closely. This is a revolutionary step in the field of agriculture and it is the major step of government to make farmers technologically educated.”

“The app will be available in play store and any android-supported phone can download it. Once it is downloaded, it has to be registered with Adhaar number and then it automatically will display the particular card holder’s field. Then he can click the picture within 500 mtr limits of his land and submit the same to the officials. If connectivity is not proper the app will store the picture and when connectivity gets better it will be downloaded.” 

“Through one mobile, many can submit their details and crop pictures but Adhaar card number should be needed to get his details of land. The app is connected to GPRS so no one can misuse the app.”

“The app will reduce the strain of farmers who frequently visit government offices when their crop is destroyed by various reasons. The grievance of  farmers will be addressed from government officials,” he added.
