Puttur, Nov 27: In a case that has been registered in Uppinangady police station, the complainants have said that Srinivas (45), working for a hotel, had died after the hotel owner and two others attacked him repeatedly with a wooden club.

Srinivas was residing with the family of his in-laws after his marriage. He was from Bakijalu House in Ichalampady village. He has left behind wife and two children.

On November 24 evening, he had visited the hotel owned by K V George to attend to cooking. It is said that George admitted him into the hospital here on November 25, claiming that he had slipped and fallen inside the hotel. Close relatives of Srinivas went to Puttur and took the injured man to Mangaluru hospital. During this period, Srinivas told them that hotel owner and two others had clubbed him in his head and back. A complaint giving these details was delivered in the police station at Uppinangady. However, without showing improvement in spite of best efforts of doctors, Srinivas, it is said, died on Sunday.

Father-in-law of the deceased, Anni Poojary, in his written complaint delivered to the police station, is understood to have said that his son-in-law was being forced to attend to night shift work against his will and that Srinivas had told his family members that the hotel owner and two others had attacked and injured him badly.

In the meanwhile, accused K V George stated that four persons, who are unidentified, came in a yellow Swift car and attacked his employee, Srinivas, causing this death. The police are now trying to reach to the bottom of the case and bring out the truth.
