Mangaluru: Man from Mysuru commits suicide in city lodge

Mangaluru, Mar 6: A person from Mysuru, who had come to the city for medical treatment, ended his life by consuming some poisonous substance on the night of Sunday March 4.

The person, who provided his identity as Venkatesh (30), resident of Niveditha Nagar, Mysuru, had checked into a lodge at Hampankatta here at 9.45 pm on Sunday. He told the staff that he had come here to get treated for some ailment in a hospital in the city. After checking in, he had slept in his room.  

On Monday morning, there was no response when the lodge staff repeatedly knocked on door of his room. The police were informed thereafter. When the door was opened in the presence of police, it was found that the man had ended his life by consuming poison.

Bunder police have registered a case of unnatural death and the investigation is on.
