Udupi, Mar 9: K Udaykumar Shetty, BJP state executive member, Managluru in-charge, district BJP president Udupi Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde and other members released a book on the pathetic condition of government hostels in Karnataka at a press conference at town BJP office Kadiyali here on Friday, March 9.

Speaking to daijiworld, BJP leader Katapady Shankar Poojary said, “The survey was conducted five years back. Earlier, retired government employees were being appointed as hostel wardens on outsource contract, but the plan was dropped after Congress came to power in the state. Water problems never seem to end in Udupi OBC hostel. During our term in the district, we formed a hostel management committee to monitor and supervise the hostel. It was led by CEO of zilla panchayat. Not even a single pre-metric hostel has been granted to Udupi from many years.”

Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde said, “‘Shakti Kendra’ convention and social media leaders’ convention inaugurated by national board president Amit Shah was a huge success. Mangaluru Chalo - Jana Suraksha Yatra also got immense response. I thank all the party workers who helped us to make it successful.”

Dinakar Babu, president, zilla panchayat, Sandhya Ramesh Poojary, chief secretary, Prabhakar Poojary, Ravi, Hemanth Kumar and others were present.
