Karkala: Two separate gambling dens raided; cash, mobile phones, cards, car seized

Karkala, Mar 10: Police team led by ASP Rishikesh Sonavani raided a spot in a building of Jantragudde, Nadalike, Karkal where gambling for cash was in progress here on Friday, March 9.

Tairan (34), Isaq Philiks (52), Mohammed Arif (43), Jithesh Pilar (30), Basheer (35), Silver Star (42), Vijay (43), Chetan (32), Kishore Kumar (34), Santhosh Poojary (27), Manoj (27), Nithesh Poojary (27), Sudhaker (26) and Surendra (32) were arrested in the raid.

Rs 1,23,255 cash, old letters, playing cards used for gambling, Alto 800 car with registration KA19 N 9796 and 14 mobile phones were recovered from them.

A case has been registered at the rural police station.

Similarly, Karkala rural police station inspector Nasir Hussain led police team raided another gambling hideout at Abbandarabettu, Nallur and arrested the group who had indulged in gambling.

The arrested are Shanker Moily (34), Ganesh (33), Shanker (46), Vijaya (33) and Ashok (23). Rs 1,765 cash and items used for gambling were seized.

A police case stands registered at rural police station.
