Mangaluru: Espacia hosts Star Night to mark Mangaladevi temple festival

Mangaluru, Mar 12: On the occasion of the annual car festival of Goddess Mangaladevi temple in the city, Espacia, an organization involved with social work, organized Star Night programme at Jeppu Bappal at 6 pm on March 9. A number of cine actors, comedians and dignitaries took part in the programme.

At the programme, rice was distributed to over 300 poor families. Uniforms were handed over to a hundred students, health cards were given to 200 people, while 44 got student scholarships. 53 civic workers and people providing service at the graveyards were felicitated.

The programme was inaugurated by former minister, Krishna J Palemar. The introductory address was delivered by advocate, Raghavendra Rao, who happens to be the legal advisor of Espacia. He provided detailed information about the organization. Rice distribution was done by MLA, J R Lobo. Health cards were handed over by Dr Mukund of Omega Hospital.

Addressing the gathering, Palemar lauded organizer advocate Raghavendra Rao for taking the initiative to help the poor and the needy with such a meaningful event wished that he and his team would continue to serve the society in a similar way in future too.

MLA J R Lobo said, "The 250-member team led by advocate Raghavendra Rao has strived hard for the welfare of the poor and the needy. It is commendable that today they are distributing free rice and health cards. We need more such people in society. I wish Rao's team all the best."

Cine actor, Arjun Kapikad, Navin D Padil, Vismaya Vinayak, Saurabh Bhandary, Prithvi Ambar, Aaradhya Shetty as well as guests, Kishore Shetty, Ramanath Hegde, Yashpal Suvarna, Sandeep Shetty, P P Hegde, advocates, Raveendranath Rai, Rajagopal Rai, RJ Vijay Pillai, Shivasharan Shetty of 'Namma TV', and Jitendra Kottary, were present.

The entertainment programme was then presented by Rajeh M and team, while team Velocity performed dance.

Bursting of fire crackers, variety entertainment and free food to all those who were present were arranged at the programme.
