Bengaluru: Anganwadi teacher of J C Nagar killed

Bengaluru, May 4: Sabeena Banu (28), working as Anganwadi teacher in Marappa Gardan, J C Nagar here, was found to have been stabbed to death by a knife. Relating to this crime, J C Nagar police have arrested Sayyed Tabrez (30), who they say had committed this murder.

Sabeena Banu from Devarajeevana Halli here had married in 2013, but because of family disputes, she had separated from her husband and had started to live separately. Since the last two years, Sabeena had become close to Tabrez from Kolar, who had shifted to the city to work here as an electrician. Both had fallen in love with each other, it is said.

Since the last few weeks, the two had begun to live together in a house at Marappa Garden. Sabeena had called her parents three weeks back, to inform them that she had entered into registered marriage with Tabrez. However, it is said that within a few days of the marriage, Tabrez began to suspect the character of Sabeena and also fought with her over finances.

The two quarreled on Wednesday night too. As the fight turned intense, Tabrez sliced the throat of Sabeena with a knife before stabbing her in the abdomen and running away. Sabeena died of excessive bleeding. Owner of the house noticed this on Thursday morning and conveyed the information to her parents and the police. The police said that Tabrez was arrested from the city later. A case stands registered at J C Nagar station and investigation is in progress.
