Malabar coast is fertile land, legend states that it is extracted from Sea by Parasurama. In a few decades ahead, this entire fertile land will be converted as Industrial and pollutant. And one day, Sri Parasuramji, finding that his intention not served, will give back the entire stretch of Malabar coast to Samudraraja. Hence, there is rain or no rain, no worry.

Indeed , in future also , we have to expect the unexpected as far as weather and rainfall pattern is concerned. Badami in Bagalkot District getting 16 cms of rain is something unheard as also lack of rains in Udupi and Mangalore . Farmers have to be prepared for such strange happenings and to the possible extent change cropping pattern and go for alternate crops in consultation with local experts.
