Udupi: Overstaying visa period - Nigerian citizen deported

Udupi, May 22: Nigerian student, Yuvansa Jerry Davis (27), who had overstayed her visa period, stands deported from the country.

Manipal police had arrested her and produced her in court for staying in the country without permission. She was remanded to judicial custody till May 11. As per the orders issued by the court later, the police personnel handed her over to the immigration officials at the international airport at Mumbai for being deported to Nigeria. She was accordingly sent back to her native country on May 19.

The operation was conducted by district police inspector for foreigners, Ratnakumar and others, under the direction of district superintendent of police, Laxman B Nimbargi.
