Mangaluru, Jun 14: St Aloysius College (Autonomous), has been ranked 22 in science stream among 50 best science colleges in India with composite score of 330 by The Week-Hansa survey for best colleges in India. This is the fourth consecutive year the college has figured within 50 best colleges all over India.
The college ranks fourth best science college in the state and first in the district.
The ranks is awarded by considering the various parameters like student teacher ratio, infrastructure of the college, teachers’ qualification, placements and research among other parameters.
The college takes part in the important surveys of the educational institutions annually, conducted by eminent research groups like Hansa, MDRA in association with The Week Magazine and India Today Magazines, NIRF of MHRD, government of India etc.
It may be recalled that In India Today-MDRA Survey, the college bagged 44th place out of the top 100 science colleges in the country, and in NIRF, the college is in the 94th place for its overall performance, the only college to feature within 100 in Mangaluru, Udupi and Kodagu districts.
According to the college sources, there isa overwhelming response from parents and students to join St Aloysius College this academic year for both PG and UG programmes. The college went online for admissions and fee payment from this year, and thus eligible students from any place including the neighboring countries could apply for admissions. Around 3,000 applications were received for the UG courses and 1,500 for the PG programmes. Integrated two BCom batches with intensive training for CA and ACCA, masters in Finance and Analytics, masters in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics, and masters in Big Data Analytics, Performing Arts are the new programmes introduced in the college from the current academic year.
