Mangaluru: 'Say no to drugs' - Students at Vikas College take oath in DCP Hanumantharaya's presence

Mangaluru, Jun 26: Vikas PU College observed International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Tuesday, June 26.

DCP Hanumantharaya inaugurated the programme and suggested the students to have a small interactive session where the students are given opportunities to express their opinion about the issues related to drug consumption.

The programme was followed by oath-taking ceremony where the students vowed to say a big ‘No’ to drugs and lead their friends too in the same path.



Dr Ananth Prabhu G, advisor of Vikas PU College, Parthasarathi Palemar, coordinator of Vikas Group of Education, J Koragappa, trustee, Prof T Rajaram Rao, principal, Vikas PU College, were also present.

Dr D Shripathi Rao, correspondent, Vikas PU College rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Shruthi S Bhandary, lecturer in Physics.

    Saying "NO to DRUGS" should be the prime slogan in a country such as India where the population is every growing and obviously the daily pressure of life will also get compounded steadily. Daily pressure of life will obviously bring additional stress each passing day, and many of the people can easily become vulnerable to all kinds of consequences.

    Our religious values and the discipline attached to each and everyone in India are perhaps the best booster for all Indians to be far away from the influence of drugs. We must therefore join any movement that enables us to keep away from Drugs or any other devices that we think would keep us away from our daily stress.

    Drugs getting entangled with our daily life in India would be a deadly virus that is dangerous and frightful. We must all therefore strive for our daily peace and harmony regardless of all other temptations in life. We have to seek each other's help and guidance when we are surrounded with tensions, pressures and all kinds of other temptations in life. Our family, our neighbors and our community in India will remain safe and stable only if we keep away from addiction of any drugs or other devices. We must engage ourselves for various precautions and preventions before situation goes out of control. Please God, help our people to remain safe and happy and peaceful.

    DCP sir is one of the best officers in Mangalore.
    Without much of publicity, he works really hard to ensure our city is safe and crime free.

    Very good.
    Need of the hour.
    These days, our youth easily get drifted and end up getting addicted to drugs and other substance!
    Such programs should be conducted in every college!
