Mumbai: Kinhanna Rai's life, writings are model for society – Dr Sadananda Perla

Mumbai, Jun 30: “The life and writings of the government's prestigious Pampa awardee Nadoja Kayyar Kinhanna Rai is a model for society. His way of thinking and life are exemplary,” opined Dr Sadananda Perla.

He delivered a lecture on the life and writings of Kinhanna Rai in memory of Kayyar programme held by Dakshina Kannada district Sahitya Prarishat, Kannada Sahitya Parishat Mangaluru unit and Gokarnanageshwara College.

Dakshina Kannada district Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura who inaugurated the programme said that the new generation should follow the ideals of elders in order to have knowledge of literature and culture. “Therefore, memories of Kinhanna Rai are meaningful,” he opined.



Son of Kinhanna Rai, Dr Prasanna Rai inaugurated the Kannada Sangha of the college. College principal Dr Renuka K chaired the programme. Kshama N Rao, Vignesh B and Suraksha were present.

Director of the college Kannada association Dr Dinaker S Pachunadi compered the programme. Ratnavathi J Baikadi sang poems of Kinhanna Rai. Kannada Sahitya Parishat taluk unit president K Vijayalaxmi welcomed everyone. Treasurer Y Krishnamoorthi thanked the gathering.
