Won't return till I feel 'safe from unfair prosecution', says Zakir Naik

Mumbai, Jul 4 (PTI): Zakir Naik, the controversial Islamic preacher who has been staying abroad to evade arrest in various cases in India, on Wednesday said he would not return home till he felt "safe from unfair prosecution".

Naik's statement, issued through his PRO in Mumbai, came amid reports that he was being deported to India from Malaysia.

"The news of my coming to India is totally baseless and false. I have no plans to come to India till I don't feel safe from unfair prosecution," said Naik in the statement.

He added that he would "surely return to my homeland" when he feels "that the government will be just and fair."

Naik is facing various cases, including for hate speech and money laundering, in India and has been staying abroad to evade arrest.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had first registered a case against the 51-year-old Naik under anti- terror laws in 2016 for allegedly promoting enmity between different religious groups

The NIA and Mumbai Police, subsequently, had also carried out searches at 10 places in Mumbai including residential premises of some of the office bearers of the foundation run by Naik.

The foundation was earlier put on the restricted list by the Home Ministry for receiving funds from abroad.

Then Zakhir Naik may have to wait till Congress coming to power, which is a remote possibility. Congress alone can condone his anti-national activities.....!

Even Mr . Togadia feels that there is a conspiracy to kill him.

Zakir you are taking only about your safety, but in your preaching by urging Muslims to become terrorist and terrorize people you have made the whole world an unsafe place for everyone, and that's why you have banned in most countries around the world because you encourage and abet violence against non Muslims. Hence, you should be the last one to talk about safety, because you endanger the safety of the rest of humanity and you know that. So now you are running from the law and do not want to face justice from the victims of your preaching.

If you wan the world to be safe retract your terrorist stand and violence, ask for forgiveness and WE the Indian people will forgive you if you promise to behave yourself henceforth.

    @Satyameva Jayate,
Please tell Satya and send me a link where he preached Muslims to become terrorist.
I remember his speech where he told even if some people of other religion kills Muslim families just for being Muslims then also any member of that Muslim family cannot retaliate with any other person of that community who killed Muslims. But many high ranking politicians justified Godhra Muslim killings by saying that every action has opposite reaction. Now who according to you is a terrorist.

When Zakir Naik can be arrested by statement of a terrorist that he was influenced by Zakir Naik, then will he be released if some very good person gives statement that he was influenced by Zakir Naik?

There were so many politicians who were seen regularly with fake Babas and even donated government funds to them. What happened to these politicians? Arrested?.

He even quoted from Quran that Whosoever kills an innocent human being, it shall be as if he has killed all mankind, and whosoever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. (5:32)

Please tell me if Zakir had a clear conscience why doesn't he want to come back and answer all the charges against him. India has a free and fair judicial system and if he has done nothing wrong he could always have his day in court. Apparently he knows he has done many wrongs and so he is hiding like a rat in a foreign land, reminds me of Dawood Ibrahim. His father passed away and he did not come for the funeral too. Zakir is been banned in all European countries, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and several other countries. Why?

Why have you left out the first line of (5:32) wherein is says - And it has been prescribed to the children of Israel. This verse has been copied from the Jewish Talmud (Torah), but the Qur'anic verse is 5:33 why don't you quote that verse?

As per BJP rule two different laws apply to same offence. If BJP commits an offence against a community no case, no legal proceedings and clean chit all the way. But a non BJP commits the same offence full extent of the law applies even death legally or illegally no questions asked, no counter sue, only Damki.

I was at the impression that Muslim Shariat laws are unfair for other Religion People in Muslim Countries. Preaching should result in peaceful co existence with other Religious believers, If it leads to Violent existence then the Preacher should be punished according to the existing Laws of the Land.
