Bengaluru, Jul 24: Former assembly speaker, K B Koliwad, who had said that chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, had to shed tears because of certain Congress leaders, and former MLA, K N Rajanna, who had criticized the coalition government and H D Kumaraswamy, have been served with notices by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, by treating these statements as anti- party activity.
In the notices, the party said that as per statements published by some newspapers, these leaders had acted against the policies and principles of the party and harmed its reputation.
K N Rajanna, speaking to reporters on Sunday, had felt that it was shameful on the part of Kumaraswamy to shed tears like women and that JD(S) is not following the principles of coalition government.

Reacting to the information, Koliwad said that he had issued statement against an individual, Siddaramaiah, and not against the party. “Siddaramaiah had created discomfiture for the party and I rightly spoke against him. I am a born Congressman and will never leave the party. Let me get the notice, I will reply to it," he stated.
Koliwad, without mentioning the name of Siddaramaiah again, criticized the leader for openly speaking about reducing quantum of 'Anna Bhagya' rice to ration card holders and increase in diesel and petrol rates affected in the budget, without raising the topic in the meeting as per the procedure.
He said he had spoken against a person who violated the discipline of coalition government and spoke publicly against certain steps taken by his own government.
