Kasargod, Oct 7: On the allegation of murdering Sawad (40), who was residing in a rented room at Tanur Himachhapuzha, a person, who has been identified as Sulfiyan (24), a neighbour of the murdered man, stands arrested. Sufiyan, who is a student of a college here, has been accused of hitting the head of Sawad and killing him. The arrest was made by Tanur police, who also have taken into custody Sawad's wife, Saujat.

It is said that Saujat and Basheer (40) from Tanur love each other. To be able to get married to Saujat, it is said that Basheer had arranged to kill Sawad with the help of his friend, Sulfiyan, who lived near Sawad's residence.

Basheer fled to Mumbai after the murder, and the police have sought assistance of the Interpol to locate his whereabouts. Basheer is learnt to have been employed in the Gulf. Saujat and Basheer had decided to live together after killing Sawad, the police stated.
