Puttur, Oct 11: Dayanand (30) from Kukkaje in Kedila village lost his life due to electrocution on Wednesday October 10.

Dayanand was unmarried residing alone at his home. He used to do tile fixing work. His mother had died a few years ago and his father, Ram Bangera, works in a hotel at Badiadka.

Dayanand who lived alone, had returned home from work on Tuesday evening, neighbours stated. On Wednesday morning, his body was found hanging from the electric power lines passing through his courtyard.

It is suspected that misconstruing there was no power, he would have tried to meddle with the service wire to do some repairs at night. As no one was around at that time, no one tried to rescue him.

A case relating to this death was registered at the town police station here.
