Mumbai, Nov 22: The natives of Karnataka settled in the metro are patrons of Tulu and Kannada plays who are willing to view the plays even all night long. The large audience who made time in their busy schedules to see the play, are inspiring the troupe to excel’, said Ramesh, Kannada movie actor, on Thursday November 20. He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of ‘Eeer Undaraa’, Tulu play by Devdas Kapikad’s ‘Cha Parka’ troupe, held at Karnataka Sangh auditorium, in Matunga West.
Ramesh added that Devdas had a role in Kannada movie ‘Venkata in Sankata’, because of his versatile acting and mass appeal. The play ‘Eeer Undaraa’ has truly enthralled Mumbaikars during its tour here, he said.
Vastu expert Ashok Purohit, Billava Jagrati Balaga vice-president K Bhojaraj, Tiya Samaj honorary president Kumar Bangera, Tunga Hospital Meera Road managing director Dr Satish Shetty, ‘Namma Matsyagandha’ bulletin editor Shiva Mudigere, Mira Road hotelier Suresh Nayak, Aikala Gopal Shetty, Karnire Patraguttu Jaideep Amin, entrepreneur Yashwant Shetty Bannanje, Chandrahas Shetty Sringeri, Devdas Kapikad and troupe convener Sharmila D Kapikad, were the guests of honour present on the dais.
Devdas welcomed the gathering of Tulu play enthusiasts of metro. Sadashiv Shetty Bantwal, Sunil Amin, D N Kotian, and Sadashiv Amin, honoured the guests with flower bouquets. Cha Parka troupe Mumbai convener Karnoor Mohan Rai compered the programme.
Musical concert by Devdas and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor was also staged on the occasion, besides variety entertainment programmes by other groups.
