Mangaluru, Dec 1: The nine day novena of the Feast of Our Lady of Pompeii in the city was inaugurated on November 30 at the Shrine of Pompeii.
The novena was inaugurated with a prayer service in the presence of devotees who gathered in large numbers at the Shrine at Urwa church and a procession to the church was followed by mass.
Fr Clifford Fernandes, parish priest of Jeppu church was the main celebrant.
Fr Stany Pereira, parish priest of Urwa Church, Fr Jason Lobo, asst parish priest, Francis Saldanha, vice president and Lucy D’Souza, secretary were present.
