Udupi: Ashes of late union minister Ananth Kumar immersed in Malpe

Udupi, Dec 1: The ashes of BJP leader and union minister Ananth Kumar who passed away recently were immersed in Malpe Vadabandeshwar Sea on Saturday, December 1, under the leadership of Udupi district BJP president Mattaru Rathnaker Hegde.

The ashes covered in a copper vessel were brought to Malpe sea shore and left in the sea after praying for eternal rest to the soul of late Ananth Kumar.

Vidhana Parishat opposition leader Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the late leader has worked sincerely for the unity of the party in Karnataka. “The death of the leader has caused huge loss for the party. We have left his ashes in the sea in Malpe in order to show our respect to him. It will be immersed in other water bodies in all the districts in the state after praying for peace of his soul.”

MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, district president Mattaru Rathnaker Hegde, Udaya Kumar Shetty, Kuyiladi Suresh Nayak, Kuthyar Navin Shetty, Ravi Ameen, Sandhya Ramesh, Veena Shetty and Raghavendra Kini were present.
