Udupi, Dec 2: MP Shobha Karandlaje inaugurated the sports meet here on Saturday December 1 ahead of birth anniversary of Dr Shivarama Karanth on December 8.
The sports meet of representatives of gram panchayat, taluk panchayat, district panchayath and city corporations of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada was inaugurated here at Kota Viveka Vidya institution. The programme has been organised by Kotatattu gram panchayat, Dr Shivarama Karanth Prathishtana.
After the inauguration, Karandlaje said that the sports meet has been organised differently by Kota Srinivas Poojary and leaders irrespective of different parties have come together.
Kota Srinivas Poojary said that already 365 teams have registered to participate in the sports meet.
Udupi taluk panchayat president Nalini Pradeep Rao, Kundapur taluk panchayat president Jayashree Sudhakar Mogaveera and others were present.
