Udupi: District delegation urges mining minister to resolve sand extraction issue

Udupi, Dec 6: A delegation under the leadership of MLA Raghupati Bhat met minister for mining Rajshekhar Patil, in-charge minister for Dakshina Kannada district U T Khader, secretary of the mining department Rajendra Kataria at Bengaluru on Wednesday, December 5 and discussed the sand extraction issue in the CRZ area of the district.

The delegation informed the concerned officials that the central government has already given clarification on this issue and certain hurdles have to be resolved by the state mining and geology department. The delegation also urged the officials to give licence to the 172 people, who are already mentioned in the list to extract the sand in CRZ area.



Rajshekhar Patil assured the delegation that the issue will be resolved within nine days. Former MP Jayaprakash Hegde and members of the committee demanding the right to extract sand were present in the meeting.

    APPRECIATE THE EFFORT OF MR RAGHUPATHI BHAT. THIS IS WHAT WE EXPECT OUR LOCAL REPRESENTATIVE TO DO. MLA'S & MP'S SHOULD SEEK VOTE ON SHOWING THE DEVELOPMENT THEY DONE IN THERE TERM , SOLVED ISSUES DURING THERE TERM. NOT ON BLAMING OPPOSTION & USING RELIGION AS A TOOL TO WIN ELECTION.
