Belagavi: State legislature mourns deaths of Vajpayee, Ananth, CKJS, Ambarish, others

Belagavi, Dec 10: Both houses of Karnataka Legislature, which began their brief 10-day winter session in the border town on Monday December 10, mourned the deaths of former prime minister A B Vajpayee, union minister Ananth Kumar, former union ministers and senior Congress leader C K Jaffer Sharief, Ambarish and other leaders.

The two houses were adjourned for the day without transacting any official business as a mark of respect to the departed leaders.

Apart from Vajpayee, Ananth Kumar, Sharief and Ambarish, the other leaders for whom condolence resolutions were passed included former ministers Ety Shambhunath, Omprakash Kanagali, Vimalabai Deshmukh, Vishwanath Karibasappa Mamani and former MLAs MP Ravidnra, Babureddy Venkappa Tungala, H S Prakash, Mallappa Veerappa Setty, N Thippeswamy and M Bhaktavatsala.
