Mangaluru, Dec 16: An Exuberant 139th College Day of St Aloysius PU College was celebrated on December 15 in the College Pretorium.

The chief guest, Rio D’Souza, principal, St Joseph’s Engineering College, Mangaluru, reminisced his childhood days in Aloysius Campus and attributed his success to his Alma Mater. He urged students to grow like a tree, flow like a river and take inspiration from nature.

Fr Denzil W Lobo, secretary, MJES in his presidential address appreciated the principal, staff and students of St Aloysius PU College and spoke on the importance of selfless giving and quoted St Aloysius Gonzaga , the patron of the College for his selfless service towards humanity and motivated students to be critical thinkers and concerned citizens.

The annual report of 2018-19 was presented by the principal Fr Melwin Mendonca which was followed by a video presentation by Reena J Monteiro unfolding the extraordinary accomplishments of the academic year.

During the occasion the meritorious students and sports achievers were honoured with mementos and certificates. The convener of the college day Leslie D’Souza welcomed the gathering and Pradhyumna Rai, the students’ council president proposed the vote of thanks. Also gracing the dais were the finance officer Fr John Lang Bosco, vice-principals Charlotte D’Souza and Muralikrishna G M, PTA vice-president Jyothi Pais and student council secretary Mehek Pinto, and joint secretary Joicy Pinto. The formal programme was compered by Sneha D’souza and Anush Shetty. The formal function was followed by a spectacular cultural programme.
