Udupi: Nirmala English Medium School shines at ‘Inspire Awards Manak' competition

Udupi, Dec 22: The creativity and innovative spirit of ignited minds witnessed at district-level Science exhibition and project competition ‘Inspire Awards Manak 2018’, at St Cecily School campus, gives one a feeling of future India, which lies in the younger generation.

About 225 Inspire award students from 148 schools organized by department of State Education Research and Training, Bengaluru, District Institute of Education and Training on Thursday, December 20 came to the fore. Out of these, after filtration, 60 students will reach final (national level).

Rajendra, vice president of taluk panchayat Udupi in his inaugural address said, "Innovation in India is a dream of Prime Minister Modi. He launched many programmes to promote innovation. Children are the future. Their contributions are immense. Let them come up like scientist APJ Abdul Kalam. The district has awarded many scientists to the nation. Let today’s children make our district shine at national level. Let them come up with even more innovative projects."



Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) is a national programme to attract talented young students to study Science and to pursue a career in research. This programme has been implemented since 2009-10.

There were many innovative projects presented at the science exhibition.
The five students were selected from Nirmala English Medium School for Inspire awards are:

1. Joshva Rodrigues Xth std on Hydroponics models
2. Renvel D’Almeida Xth std on Hydrolic city
3. Mouly U Shetty Xth std on waste water management
4. Aman Shetty Xth std on automatic street lights system
5. Sara Neha Xth std on automatic heater

Sara Neha and Joshva Rodrigues are selected from Nirmala English Medium School among the top 60 students. They are congratulated and appreciated for their hard work wished all the best in their future endeavours in the field of Science.
