St Aloysius B Ed College hosts Christmas programme for Govt school children

Mangaluru, Dec 23: St Aloysius B Ed College, a leading teacher education institute of the city hosted a Christmas programme for the 65 children of the Mallikatte Government higher primary school, Mangalore here on Saturday, December 22.

The school children were brought to the college. The B Ed trainees of the college conducted various entertaining games for the children followed by performed an impressive array of programme soaking the children in the spirit of Christmas. A dance-drama showcasing the incarnation and the birth of Jesus was enacted.

The college also had conducted week-long competitions like star making, carol singing, Christmas decorative items, Christmas tree and Christmas quiz. The Christmas week ended with the hosting of cultural event for the 65 children of government higher primary school, Mallikatte.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ, director of the College said, “Christmas is here once again and it’s the time of the year when we are reminded of God’s love and promise to mankind. The birth of Jesus is also a celebration of God’s love and promise to mankind. It is also a celebration of a new life.” Followed by the children were offered with gifts and kuswar. Fr Dr Praveen SJ acknowledged the winners of Christmas competitions with prizes.

Julia and group invoked the blessings of the almighty through a prayer song. Harshitha welcomed the gathering. Shreya and team performed a welcome dance. Premalatha highlighted the significance of Christmas. Shivangi, Arwin SJ and Shreya conducted Christmas games. Shruthi rendered the vote of thanks.

Dr Farita Viegas, principal and Kumuda, headmistress of the school graced the occasion.

Joshna B and Sandhya, staff coordinators organized the event. Radha compered the programme. Santa-Clause entertained the children.
