Ex-CM Arjun Munda elected Jharkhand Archery Association chief

Ranchi, Jan 8 (IANS): Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Arjun Munda was on Tuesday elected as president of the Jharkhand Archery Association.

He was elected unanimously at a meeting of the association in Jamshedpur. He replaces Sunil Bhaskaran.

Munda's election takes place only two days after he was nominated as a member in Rajnath Singh-headed manifesto preparing committee by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah.

Munda had set up Archery Academy at Seraikela-Kharswa district in 2004. Indian archer and Ranchi girl Deepika Kumari was also product of the Archery Academy set up by him.

"Not only in Jharkhand but all tribal youth have talent to become an archer. There is need to promote them. I will work to promote archery in Jharkhand," said Munda after being elected as the president.
