Bangalore: Siddaramaiah’s Talks with High Command Successful?

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Jan 31:  If indications are to be relied upon, the talks the High Command had with its disgruntled Karnataka leader Siddaramaiah have succeeded. In all likelihood, R V Deshpande, who was recently elevated to the presidentship of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, will pave way for Siddaramaiah by sacrificing his position.

Siddaramaiah met UPA chairperson and Congress national president Sonia Gandhi in the company of ex-union minister C M Ibrahim and MP R L Jalappa on Friday January 30 and held prolonged discussions. Siddaramaiah, who was nursing a grouse against the High Command for neglecting him after he crossed over to that party from the JD (S), had remained dormant, without taking part in the electioneering. He had also aired his anger openly after the post of the opposition leader in the state assembly eluded him.

Siddaramaiah, who reached the national capital along with his supporters on Thursday, held discussions with Ahmed Patel, political secretary to Sonia Gandhi, the same night. C M Ibrahim, after holding discussions with Sonia Gandhi, said that the High Command treated Siddaramaiah well. "Discussions are going on about giving a suitable posting to Siddaramaiah and a decision may be arrived at soon," he briefed.
