Mangalore: Hindu Jana Jagruti Opposes Valentine Day

Mangalore, Feb 12: The youngsters following the western culture and celebrating valentine's day must be reined in,  demanded  Mohan Gowda, representative of  Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti, speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday February 10.

The occasion of  Valentines Day is being exploited for commercial interests in the country, he alleged.

The Hindu Jana Jagruti Samiti has distributed over a  lac pamphlets, advocating the need for the youth to change their attitude towards life and to stop celebrating valentine's day, he informed.

The samiti has also handed over memorandums to educational institutions in this connection,  said Gowda.

A protest will be held on the day against the  government's decision to allow the citizens to celebrate valntine's day as they like, he stated.
