Udupi: 'Make Wearing of Uniforms Compulsory on Valentine’s Day'

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SN/SP)

Udupi, Feb 12: “The youth, under any circumstances, should not make it a practice to celebrate events like Valentine's Day that encourages indecent behaviour,” requested Harish Rama Bananje, district president, Hindu Yuva Sene, in a statement.

“The very concept of celebrating Valentine’s Day is against Indian culture.  No conscious society can accept or tolerate its youngsters getting involved with uncultured activities,” he warned.

The educational institutions must create awareness among the students and convince them to keep away from this celebration, advised Bannanje.

The heads of the institutions must instruct the school and college students to wear uniforms as a step to stop them from indulging in indecent activities. Yuva Sena activists will act firmly against those who behave against Indian culture and refinement, he added.

The lewd behaviour of the people in public places will be brought to the notice of their parents besides handing them over to the law enforcement authorities, Bannanje explained.

Dear Mr. Harish Rama Bananje, Had you been to foreign countries in your lifetime? If so how long had you been there? Go to America and ask Americans what about their culture good or bad? Ask Europeans what about their culture good or bad? Ask Middle Eastern people about their culture good or bad? Ask Australians about their culture good or bad.

I am sure you will receive answers from each nation’s that their cultures are one of the best in the world as you say our Indian culture is one of the best in the world. If that is the case for what you are competing as we have lot of preachers than practicing people.

While I was studying in St.Philomena College, Puttur, if any Christian husband and wife going hand in hand a certain lower caste Brahmin Mr.xxx was laughing and ridiculing Christians. Now from his own community people without marriage going hand in hand but I cannot ridicule any lovers who go hand in hand from any communities.
