Udupi, Feb 13: A district-level exhibition of products of rural artisans under the Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) and Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), will be held from Saturday February 14 to Friday February 20, at Hotel Ayodhya auditorium, Krishna Complex, here.

It is being organized by the Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Commission and District Industrial Centre (DIC).

State home minister and district in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya will inaugurate the exhibition at 4.00 pm on Saturday.

The products from Karnataka Khadi Gramodyog Sangh Bengeri, Hubli, the sole establishment in the entire country to manufacture the national flag, other rural industrial units, and Naznin Silk Chintamani will be on display at the week-long exhibition. It also offers a discount of 35 percent on khadi products and 20 percent on silk products.

Home products such as honey, fruit delicacies, papadams, cashew kernels, jute bags, earthenware, rural industrial products such as shoes and footwear, bakery products, bamboo art, artificial flowers, and other items will also be on display.

Kalakeri, S G Hegde, Rameshmurti, and Rajanna, were present at the press meet.
