Moodbidri: Infant Jesus Statue Installed at New Grotto in Alangar Church

Moodbidri, Feb 13: The installation of the Infant Jesus statue in the newly-built grotto was held at Alangar Our Lady of Rosary church, recently.

Michael Sequeira, a staunch devotee of Infant Jesus and the donor of the entire project, arrived along with his family from Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, and inaugurated the grotto.



Mangalore diocese vicar general Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu installed the statue in the grotto, in the presence of priests, nuns, and over 2,000 faithful.

Monsignor Prabhu also honoured Sequeira and his family, and the architect of the grotto Walter Pinto Vamanjoor.

The installation ceremony was followed by Holy Mass offered by Monsignor Prabhu along with other priests.

Fr Dolphy Serrao, delivered the homily during the Mass.

Alangar parish priest Fr Vincent D''Souza proposed vote of thanks. Later refreshments were served to all.
