Mangalore: Rohidas Kadri to be felicitated on Feb 15

Mangalore, Feb 15: A felicitation programme to honour veteran theatre and cine artiste Rohidas Kadri will be held at the Town Hal here on Sunday February 15.

Rohidas Kadri won over the hearts of the people through his contributions to the fields of mythological, social, historical and folk dramas over a six-year period. He was also successful in gaining popularity through his fruitful acting career spread over  Tulu, Kannada and Malayalam films, said Kadri Navneet Shetty, chief convener of the Felicitation Committee, speaking at a  press conference held here on Thursday February 12.

Shri Rajashekarananda Swamiji, Vajradehi Math, Gurpur and Vasudeva Asranna, vedic scholar, Kateel temple, will deliver benedictory speeches on the occasion.

A J Shetty, managing trustee, Kadri Temple, will preside over the function.

Friends of Rohidas Kadri in theatrical field will participate as special invitees. 'Nritya Bharati Kadri' will present 'Nrityarpanam' performance as a part of programme at 4 pm.

Later, award-winning play 'Kuduruda Siri' by Kadri Artistes will be presented on the occasion, he said.

Dinesh Devadiga, honorary president of the Felicitation Committee, Kishore D Shetty, president, Gokul K, general secretary and Ashok Kumar D K, treasurer, were present at the press conference.
