Udupi: Tankers Collide - Diesel Drains Down

Udupi, Feb 16: In the early hours on Sunday February 15, a tanker carrying bitumen collided with a diesel tanker near Pangla bridge near Kaup, as a result of which, the diesel tanker suffered damages and the entire stock of diesel spilled onto the roadside.

The diesel tanker tumbled into a road-side gorge. Both its driver and cleaner escaped with minor injuries.  The diesel was being transported to Ankola from Panambur. Driver Ashok (35) from Puttur and bitumen tanker driver Navin suffered minor nicks and cuts, while their vehicles suffered extensive damages..

Loss in the accident is being assessed. A case has been registered in Kaup police station.
