Mangalore, Feb 17:
The interim budget presented by the union government is perfect in all aspects and it is a historical milestone, opined Veerappa Moily, Congress spokesperson and Chairman of Central Administrative Reforms Commission, addressing a press meet in the city on Monday February 16.

The budget has given due weightage to all the sectors with added impetus on agriculture. The budget has the potential of acting as catalyst for economic boom and achieving 300 percent developments, he said.

Moily claimed that the country was staring at a minus growth rate five years ago.  Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the nation has shot up to 9% and the country is placed second in the world as far as the annual growth rate is concerned. Moily added, that this affectively shows that the ruling UPA combine at the centre has got the political will to achieve development of the country, he added.

The economic principles being followed by the centre are strong and the budget has come as a strong cushion and protective cover to protect the Indian economy against the affects of economic slump elsewhere, he said  and  public  sector companies income  increased  in  landmark  Investment growth rate, FDI  are also increased  in  five  years. And the budget is completely concentrated on economic development, he claimed.

Foreign direct investment has also witnessed a steep upward trend as compared to the erstwhile NDA regime, when this had slumped, Moily pointed out. He  said the budget  is aptly identified the farmers and agricultural activities as the centres of focus for achieving progress and this can safely be branded as an Aam Admi Budget.

Congress leaders Ivan D'Souza, G A Bawa, Thejomaya, Kodijal Ibrahim and others were present at the press meet.
