Mangalore: Ashwini Moolya Not Humiliated by Sangh Parivar, says Father

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Feb 17: Contrary to various stories making rounds about the alleged involvement of Sangh Parivar outfits which allegedly humiliated Ashwini Moolya publicly, forcing her to end her life, Jaya Moolya, father of Ashwini Moolya, the student who ended her life after a bus owner's son named Salim allegedly raped her in a deserted place recently, said that his daughter was not harassed by the Sangh Parivar activists.  He said that Salim was directly responsible for her death. He also claimed that those who handed over Salim to the police were members of the general public.

Moolya further said, speaking to a local newspaper that he too did not chide her, except for expressing his anguish to her once while coming back home from Moodbidri police station, for getting caught in a mess. Moolya said, he had asked Ashwini to attend the school next day but her mother thought it would be better if she skips school for a day.

Salim's brother Razack however, begs to differ. He said that those who beat up Salim and handed him over to the police were in fact, right wing elements. He said that the tragedy occurred because of the humiliation heaped on the girl by the Sangh Parivar outfits and that his brother is innocent.

Mr Raj I dont agree with you one sided statement. If Saleem, or any x y z from any community is found guilty, please punish him within the legal frame work. Dont allow sangh parivar/muslim or christian parivar to take the law in to their hands. Now the father of the girl must have been threatened and terrorised by the culprits to deviate from the original statement.

If we are ruled by the illiterate and biased politicians, what can we expect from this government. only anarchy and lawlessness everywhere. Mr Raj you have targetted two minority communities in your statement. Sinners and criminals dont belong to one religion or community and they are there in every community. If we apply justice and stand for equalitym then definitely we can build a good united India.

Think logically..not a rape...its definitely there is some thing between 28 year old maried saleem and 14 year old minor girl..my question ...is this relation is acceptable ???making love to a minor girl is a equivalent to crime..if the girl is from minority comunity..how many lobos and ibrahim have asked here to punish the saleem...but if the girl is hindu ..then its not a crime ????

I don't know why some of you are commenting on Renuka Chaudhry. There is no comment on the interview given to NDTV by our SP. He has clearly said that he cannot arrest the culprits as he is scared of creating communal tension. In such a scenerio what do you expect a poor person like Ashwini's father to do. The poor guy must be really scared.

On one hand he has to bear the loss of his daughter and then he cannot expect anything from the police as they are scared. Now the only option for him and all of us is to wait for the enquiry by the COD and pray that they do their job correctly without political pressure. Let them determine if Ashwini was indeed raped, and also the role of the 5 named BD/ Ram sene goondas in her suicide.

And finally let us all pray for the soul of that poor girl, a young flower that has been snuffed out by an insensitive world !!!!!!!.

PLEASE WAIT UNTIL COD INVESTIGATION LEADS TO THE FACT OR NOT. HOWEVER, THE CASE HAS CLEAR INDICATION THAT SHE WAS NOT RAPED BY SALEEM. SANGH PARIVAR MAY HAVE TRACKED THE BOY/GIRL WHILE THEY WERE TALKING.

THEY MAY BEATEN SALEEM AND LETOFF. AND THEY PROBABLY MOLESTED HER AS THEY USUALLY DO TO ALL THE GIRLS FOR PLEASURE.AND THEY BROUGHT HER TO POLICE STATION FOR INFLICTING MAXIMUM HUMILIATION. WHICH RESULTED IN SUICIDE.

NOW TO SAVE SANGH PARVAR, POLICE BOOKED SALEEM AND WANTS TO WASH HANDS. THIS MAY BE THE FACT. LETS SEE WHERE IT WILL END. UNDER PRESENT HOME MINISTER ACHARYA AND HIS OWN POLICE TEAM IN MANGALORE/UDUPI DISTRCT, THEY COULD MANIPULATE THE CRIME EVIDENCE AND BETRAY THE NATION'S CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. AND CITIZEN CAN FACE MORE AND MORE THREAT TO THEIR LIFE ESPECIALLY YOUNG HINDU WOMAN.

IF THESE SYNDICATES REMAIN IN POWER. SO ITS OUR FAULT WE ELECT THESE GANGS TO POWER.

No need alibi from the untouchables of the civilised society that is Sangh Parivar. The recent developments in Mangalore and the country is stark reminder of the things ahead if these outfits are not shown their place in the coming elections.

It's really sad to see so many poeple giving thier judgement on this issue as a saint and blaming the girl or Saleem. Without knowing what's happen and who's behind, we don't have the right to pass judgement at all. I hope the real guilty will punished and truth will come out very soon, it's my hope and prayer!!!!!

Ms. Vidya Serao, would it be acceptable to the family if the girl had been raped by the youth of their own faith ? Physical relationship with a minor is a rape no matter which faith's member involves in it. However, even court protects the identity of the victim by covering the face so that the victim will be able to live a normal life.

What the members who dragged the duo to the police station did is a grave mistake of causing personal humiliation to the girl that drove her to committing suicide. This is in addition to the fact that her family left her alone so that she finds resources/time/convenience to hang herself.

I hope you don't expect this to happen with a girl who went through such a traumatic consequence at a police station ? There is no soul in the world who does not commit a mistake - are they driven to suicide this way ?

May I remind Mr. Walter D'Mellow that until my chidlren reach the age of adulthood, I am their legal guardian and am responsible to whatever they do. At the same time no member of the public can lay a finger on them but inform me, I in turn will take action with presence of mind. What I have been saying is that Mr. Moolya should have been ifnormed of any kind of behavious or his daughter instead of dragging her to the police station. Now, I request you to place one of your children on either of the youth and think what would you have done with them or the people who took for granted the right to deal with them.

Dear Readers Please do not jump to any conclusions. The BJP government has done a fair job by handing over this case to COD. Let the investigation to complete and allow the law to take its actions on the culprit. It is immature to expect Renuka to comment/or act on all acts, when the state government is moving in the right direction. The public has the right to prevent the unlawful activities happening in the society no one has a right to take the law into their own hands.

If Salim is the real culprit then, he should be punished. But if the sangh pariver outfits are responsible then WHAT?. Firstly if she was really raped by Salim, then it makes no sense of her talking to him in public, other than giving police complaint, secondly if the matter said by Jaya Moolya is true than he would have not handed over to police alive.

Kindly don’t try to create a communal violence with this type of heinous act. This type of politics we already seen in movies.

It seems that Mr. Charles D'mello & Lydia Lobo knows everything of girls background. If the same situation arised to your girl child what you would have done? Instead of criticising the incident & pressurising to punish the youth who took minor girl's advantage, these people are trying to dig something else which is irrelavant.

Some people here blaming Sangh outfits, but I can't understand why people take this path. We should understand that minor girl raped by 2 youth of other faith & what will be the humiliation to the family? If this girl belong to your , our family what we would have done? same thing would have happened. Blaming Sangh even if they handed over girl to police not a issue. It's fault of muslim guys who raped minor girl & took advantage. Punish these youth the same way as girl's life.

Media created much furore for the pub attack, MLA's daughter attack , but a poor girl lost her life due to the rape by muslim guys. But no one bothers here why? Are Hindu girls not valuable? why no body makes this a national issue? Should have been a national issue. It's only that she's Hindu. This is our Congress & Secular party credentials. Hope this Congress will be wiped out soon. Hang the culprits in public as the girl lost her life. Death to death should be carried out.

What is the use of protecting those who drove his daughter to end her life ? Is he fearing being out-casted ? He must understand that if the group had talked to him instead of dragging the duo to the police station, the situation would have been different - may be his daughter would have been alive today.

Perhaps he thinks its better that she is gone than living after bringing so much disgrace to the family. Otherwise he would not have sided with the people who felt pride in punishing the youth not foreseeing what the girl will go through on their doign so. Children get carried away when they get neglected by their family. She would have surely confided with her parents about her problems if she had such an atmosphere at home.
