Mangalore, Feb 18: President of Dakshina Kannada unit of the Congress B. Ramanatha Rai at a meeting of party workers here on Tuesday said that ticket for contesting the forthcoming Lok Sabha election in Mangalore constituency should be given to a “winning candidate”. Some of the local leaders, however, suggested that former MP B. Janardhana Poojary should be the right choice.
The party had convened the meeting of the workers of its Mangalore South Assembly constituency as part of its “Vijaya deeksha abhiyan”. It was aimed at preparing the party workers to face the coming Lok Sabha election.
Earlier, at the inaugural session, Mr. Rai suggested to the party high command that every worker of the party be made to serve in its seva dal for one year.
