Mangaluru: Way Of the Cross held at White Doves Maroli by Franciscan Secular

Mangaluru, Apr 8: A religious lay association called Order Franciscan Secular belongs to the Franciscan family and is guided by Capuchin fathers of St Anne’s Friary, Jail road here whose spiritual director is Fr Manohar and assisted by Fr Maxim Nazareth.

They comprise of 17 members. Every first Sunday of the month they have monthly meetings. They pray, discuss various activities of the month, organise activities like visiting the sick, elderly and needy people and help them by providing things and counselling them.

During Lenten season every year they visit the orphanage Or home for aged and donate necessary articles. In the previous month's meeting they had decided to visit the newly inaugurated orphanage White Doves at Maroli Kulshekar.



This year on April 7, along with the president of the association Br Melwyn Pinto they organised the Way of the Cross. They provided refreshments to all the inmates of White Doves numbering to around 200 members. They also donated rice and other consumables.

They are grateful to the management of White Doves, for giving them the permission to visit the inmates and to share few items with them.
