Bantwal, Mar 18:
The residents of Farangipete got to see first-hand what needs to be done in case of a leak in a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder.

On the evening of Tuesday March 17, a gas cylinder in Hotel Mallika developed a leak after the pipe connecting the cylinder to the stove accidentally caught fire and in turn burnt the regulator as well.

Some of the locals and the hotel staff used sand to control the fire.

The fire brigade personnel then brought the cylinder outside and used water to empty the LPG from the cylinder.
