Mangalore, Mar 18: A lady, approximately 22 years old, who came from the local KSRTC bus stand to Panambur beach in the early hours of Tuesday March 17, went strait to the sea, jumped in and ended her life.

In the early morning, people were scarce at the beach and a person, who was swimming at a distance, saw the lady jumping into the sea and went there along with some others, to save her. However, she had lost her life before they could do anything to save her.

It is thought that the lady was from some other district. Although the rickshaw driver who brought her to the beach said she had a purse with her, no purse or bag was found in her possession. The policemen went to KSRTC bus stand to see as to whether any of her relatives can be found there, but to no avail.

The lady is about five-feet tall, wears a chain around her neck and an anklet. A white churidar top and black trousers cover her body. Panambur police are investigating.
