Mangalore: Judicial Custody of Shabir Moulvi Extended

Mangalore, Mar 19: The judicial custody of suspected terrorist Shabir Moulvi, who was brought here from Pune for investigating his possible links with terrorist activities in the state, has been extended till March 31. The local court extended custody through an order issued on Wednesday March 18.

Shabir Moulvi, an associate of Indian Mujahideen founder Riaz Bhatkal, had worked as Moulvi in Mukkacheri mosque here for six months. He also had contact with another suspected terrorist Ahmed Bawa from Haleangady.

The Ullal policemen had brought him from Pune through a body warrant. Shabir, currently lodged in the city sub-jail, had also been handed over to police custody in the past.
