Udupi, Mar 20: Replying to questions raised at a press conference convened at the party's district office here on Thursday March 19, D V Sadanand Gowda refused to oblige the pro-Kannada organizations which have been demanding that Suresh Angadi, Belgaum MP who is in the eye of storm over his alleged act of joining hands with the pro-Maharashtra activists in their attempt to hoist their flag on the City Corporation building, should not be allotted the party ticket. "We are not obliged to accept their demand. This is an internal issue of the party. No one else can interfere in the matter," he clarified.

He also explained that the government will take further steps on the issue after getting report from the three-member committee formed for unearthing the truth in the incident. Gowda refused to field questions on ex-union minister and MP Yatnal, saying that enough clarifications have already been issued by the party on his charges and that he feels it better to be mum rather than speak about such persons.

About the discontent simmering in the party over non-allotment of ticket, he said there were over 250 aspirants for 28 tickets and every one can not be satisfied. "The BJP has at least been able to satisfy the majority and declare its candidates. Look at the other parties, they have not been able to do that till now," he said. About the breach of trust charge leveled by Shivappa, DVS said he is not aware of it, and that it is for Shivappa and Yeddyurappa to sort out the same among themselves.

About the implementation of 'Operation Kamala' in Udupi, Gowda said that the operation was part of a strategy undertaken by the party to defeat the designs of the opposition parties which tried to weaken the government. "We however, welcome every one who comes into our fold by accepting our principles and policies," he clarified.

Gowda said he will file his nomination on April 9. He also explained, he would undertake electioneering in all the constituencies in the state for ten days from April 2, and remain in this constituency from April 12 onwards.

State secretary of the party, and election in-charge of the constituency Bhanuprakash, district BJP resident Kota Srinivas Poojary, leaders A G Kodgi, Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, Katpady Shankar Poojary and others were present at the press conference.
