Udupi: Third Front Fields Radha Sundaresh from Local Constituency

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Mar 21: Communist Party of India (CPI) state joint secretary P V Lokesh declared in a press conference held here on Friday March 20 that CPI state central committee member and zilla panchayat member Radha Sundaresh will be fielded from Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency in the coming Loksabha election as the Third Front candidate.

He also informed that in all probability, the CPI (M) will field a candidate either from Mangalore or Chickballapur constituency. In all other constituencies, the third front constituents have decided to support the JD (S), he said.

With this, the rumours about the third front mulling over fielding either KFCC chairperson Jayamala or veteran politician Amarnath Shetty from the JD (S) as a candidate from this Loksabha seat have been given a decent burial. Radha Sundaresh, who also had fought the previous Loksabha election, was successful in mustering about 80,000 votes.

Lokesh added that the CPI's Udupi office will be inaugurated on March 23 and that a public meeting will be held at the local Town Hall at 11 am that day. State executive committee of the party will be meeting on March 23 and 24, he revealed.

Radha Sundaresh, CPI state committee member B Amjad, district secretary P Sanjeev and joint secretary Shekhar were present at the press conference.

Third Front as the name suggests it is "third". It is purely an opportunistic alliance. Just want to be part of the govt by hook or crook. Just hungry for power. Thatz all.
