Udupi, Mar 21: The policemen have arrested Shivanand (26) from Kaup and Madhav (27) from Belapu village in connection with the incidents that rocked Kaup region on Sunday March 15 evening.
Both of them have been accused of attacking a vehicle in which members of the local Navbharat Cricket Team were seated near Mahavir talkies on Sunday last. They have been charged with attacking cricket players Abdul Hamid, Ashraf, Sauman, Arif, Taufeeq and Sirajuddin, who were seated on a vehicle parked by the roadside in Kaup, when suddenly tensions flared up.
Kaup police station in-charge Joy Antony and personnel made the arrests. A case was registered in the police station and both of them were produced in a local court on Friday.
