Udupi: State Level T-20 Cricket Tournament: Nethaji Sports Club Parkala Enters Semi Finals

Nethaji Sports Club Parkala entered the semi final round of the state level day-night twenty-20 hard ball cricket  tournament organized by the South Star Friends, Ambalpadi,  here. In a nail-biting finish in the quarter final match held at Ajjarkad Mahathma Gandhi Stadium in the town,  they defeated Googly Cricketers, Bangalore by three wickets.  After loosing the toss, Googly crickters batted first and lost all their wickets for 142 runs.  Sarfraz and Anwar of Nethaji Sports Club took three wickets each.  
 
In reply, Nethaji sports club recorded the victory in the 20th over, with the help of a brilliant knock of 34 runs by Sarfraz and captian's innings of 26 by  Nagaraj. Sarfraz was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his effort and received the award.
 


Earlier, in a pre-quarter final match, Nethaji Sports Club defeated MESCOM Mangalore with a margin of seven  wickets.  Rakesh of Nethaji Sports Club received the Man of the Match award.
 
In other pre-quarter final matches held during the day,  Googly Bangalore  defeated Mars Udupi, while Alva’s Moodbidri defeated DTDC Bangalore,  KIOC Bangalore secured a win over DKCA Mangalore,  State Bank Mysore,  Bangalore snuffed out the challenge of  Ullal Cricketers, Vultures Bangalore won over  Manipal University, Vijaya Bank, Bangalore snubbed  Bhatkal Cricketers and Mount Joy prevailed over  University Campus, Mangalore.

Other Quarter finals and semi finals will be held today at KMC, MIT Manipal and Ajjarkad grounds.
