Udupi: 'The First Stone was Thrown from Mosque' - Dr Acharya

DHNS

Udupi, Mar 22: Home Minister V S Acharya on Saturday claimed that the stone-throwing from a mosque sparked the recent  trouble in Kaup.

“The first stone was thrown during the Kaup incident from the mosque and after that communal trouble started,” Acharya told reporters after inaugurating the 174th branch of Saraswath Bank. He defended the act of Hindu activists, who had retaliated while returning from the Hindu Samajotsava on March 15.

“Every year Samajotsava is held. Our people have been victimised and all the arguments on the issue are ridiculous. The entire matter is misconstrued and the participants have been projected as criminals,” he opined.

He ruled out a judicial inquiry into the incident. “I attended the Samajotsava as a member of the society and not as the home minister. I express sympathy on the entire episode and I am obviously convinced about the happenings,” he said.

He was not worried about the Congress demand for appointment of election observers in both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts. He had spoken to Chief Electoral Officer Vidyashankar on the issue and alleged violation of code of conduct. The report on the issue would be forwarded to Delhi and Vidyashankar was in touch with the DGP and the Chief Secretary in this regard, he added.

Dr Acharya accused that both Congress and JD(S) were blowing the Kaup incident out of proportion as they were worried about the BJP wave in the State.

"Home Minister V S Acharya on Saturday claimed that the stone-throwing from a mosque sparked the recent trouble in Kaup" This is shocking to hear that being a Home Minister of the state, Dr.V.S.Acharya diplomatically confessed that he(his parivar) personally entered the mosque and thrown the first stone on Hindus. What else we expect from the man who said 'sweet news' to the death of Padmapriya (bhat's wife).

While no one knows whose stone tossed first, I have two conclusions. 1)If Dr.Acharya firmly says that the first stone rolled out from Mosque side, then he was very much present at the site when the incidence occured.2) Without being present at the site, if he claims that the first stone came out from Mosque side, then a blind & dumb can also understand that it was thrown by his own goons who were hiding near the Mosque.

Communal riots are strategically planned by CONGRESS. They just want to do some trouble in Karnataka to tarnish BJP govt image in the state. Hindus are always peace lovers and they will never go in the path of violence. Media also must play a very responsible role in curbing communal tensions instead of publishing false and biased news!

Ibrahim Zuhri, Dubai, and Anamika, Mangalore, both of yours comments are showing your own finger towards you. You have mentioned that no muslim retaliated and never do this? Also you have mentioned that it is not the teaching of Islam. Now, tell me, if your words are correct, why the stone has come from mosque? Has the stones flied by their own or they just started to attract towards Hindu Samajotsava people? Your statement / opinion are totally personal and are not the fact. Don't put blame on Dr. Acharya. He is a dignified and senior politician. People who don’t like BJP party will always speak negative and put blame on BJP politicians. There is no strange. It is politics. But, Dr. V S Acharya is an able politician and a Diamond doesn’t require anybody's certificate to prove that it is Diamond. This time BJP will come to power, it is 108% sure. Other political parties have lost their partnership with regional / state parties and hence BJP will come to power this time.

Mr. Home Minister, Grow up. You are the Home minister for the entire state. Please be responsible when you are making such comments. As you have ruled out any judicial inquiry into the incident, Sir could you please give an explanation as to how did you ascertain the fact that the first stone was thrown from the Masjid. We expect you to be more mature and work towards bringing all the communities together as Home Ministry is one of the most important portfolios one can hold. Wishing you all the best.

Dr. Acharya, shame on you, being a home minister, you are talking siding with your parivar (not community) . I am not using community because 90% of Hindus not supporting goondaism of Parivar. If you are so sincere order for impartial enquiry. That is it, don't blow up matter out of proportion and instigate another violence.

And need to introspect, who is the ultimate victims? who has suffered? who entered the mosque and did vanadalism? In return, no muslim retaliated ? never do this? It is not the teaching of Islam. Instead of appreciating the patience of muslim community, Dr. Acharya is engaged in blame game. We can only hope that people will give them befittig reply by rejecting the sangh parivar at least in Lok Sabha Election.

I would like to reply all those people who have raised questions on my views. The reason for the communal clashes during the BJP Govt is due to the reason of uncivilised and unnatural activities done by the people who don’t like BJP Govt.

People should stop blaming BJP Govt for these types of activities. BJP is better than other parties. Negative comments from few people will not have any affect on the performance of BJP. It is sure that this time BJP will come to power in the Lok Sabha Elections. Jai Hind.

Being known the fact of minority , and on the eve of Samajothsava, No any muslim will throw stone against a majority community and invite catastrophe to his own community. The stones were thrown by sanga parivar fanatics hiding behind the mosque to start a large scale violence against the minority. This incident has a similarity to Gujarat carnage after the godhra incident. The stone pelting was a pretext to start a gujrat type of violence in South Kanara. In Gujrat, train burning was the reason to escalate violence against minority and here the stone pelting incident was planned to escalate such violence. But some spelling mistake or timing error foiled the attempt as it does not yield the required impact to start the violence. May be some where some other tactic might be forming up behind the screen to stir the peaceful atmosphere. Just wait..... But the Truth will reveal one day because God sees the truth but he waits.." Sathyameva Jayathe"..

Rajesh, Udupi - Acharya won MLA election back in 1983 and along with 18 BJP MLAs was instrumental in bringing first non-Cong govt in Karnataka by supporting Ramakrishna Hegde from outside.

Don't know what you mean by "he does not have local support" as I have seen from my own eyes the popularity he enjoys in Udupi. Udupi people remember him for bringing water to their home with water supply projects, in creation of Udupi District, numerous schools/colleges and hospitals among others. On the stone throwing from religious place, truth is always bitter and someone has to say it out.So kudos to Acharya for being blunt without any political correctness BS.

Does the Home Minister know that some HIndu Fellows harrassed a Group of Muslim Cricketers in Mulky. These Muslims were sitting in their car and enjoying their day after playing cricket and the HIndu Fellows as usual adopted their Uncivilized ACt.

I am sure the HOme Minister will not accept it as he is a Staunch HIndu Fanatic and it is only the coming election will decide his Fate. I blame also the congress for their inability to perform well that has resulted in the rise of BJP and its illegal outfits. We have just wait and watch the Lob Sabha election.

I do agree with Dr. V S Acharya. Why the stone was thrown on Hindu people who were returning back to their home after attending the Hindu Samajotsava? Congress and JD (S) are making this more political issue by supporting minority votes. But, this time Congress will not come to power as they have pre-determined set back at UP and Bihar, also in Karnataka. This is my open suggestion to all those people who are having habit of throwing destructive comments on State Govt, BJP party and other Hindu organisations. Think twice or thrice before giving any negative comments, the first stone was thrown from mosque. What was the necessity of throwing stone on Hindus? BJP party will get the majority of seats this time in the Parliament Elections both at Karnataka and in India too.
