Udupi, Mar 23:
“The city’s historical Nayarakere lake has now been neglected to a large extent. One of the builders in the city has been dumping wastes and loads of mud near it continuously and destroying its beauty”, alleged Ganeshraj, speaking at a press conference on Saturday March 21.

“The historical lake is vanishing. A complaint has been given to the city corporation but has not received any response so far. The public themselves must come forward to protect it”, he said.

“When the lake is filled with water in the rainy season, it will be an advantage for swimmers. But swimming was restricted from the last monsoon due to the death of two boys”, said Ganeshraj.

Jaya Shetty Kapettu, swimming instructor, was present at the press conference.
