Udupi, Mar 24: The Fact-finding Committee team,  set up by the district Muslim Union, in connection with the recent disturbances in Kaup, visited Kaup near here on Monday March 23.

Members of the committee G Rajashekhar of Sauharda Vedike, lecturer Phaniraj, Jerald Pinto, Cyril Mathias, CPI (M) leader Admar Sripati Acharya, retired tahsildar K M Salim, district Wakf Advisory Board president Budan Basha, K M Salahuddin and Khatib Rashid, representative of the Muslim Union, were in the team.

The team visited Kaup mosque, made enquiries and inspected the damage suffered by the mosque building. It also visited Badriya Airtel Showroom located in the nearby building owned by the mosque and questioned the people there. The team members then went to Kaup police station and interacted with the policemen.

Polipu  Mosque Committee president Abdul Hamid, Udupi district Combined Jamaat president Manhar Ibrahim, taluk Muslim Union president S P Ummer Farooq, Padubidri zone Muslim Union president Moidinabba etc accompanied the team.
